Breakfast of Champions- French Toast

What a better way to use leftover ingredients than to make something else?! This morning I made a very simple french toast that was to die for.

French Toast
1 tbsp unsalted butter
3 large eggs (I used the 5 leftover egg whites from making the brownies yesterday)
3/4 cup cream
1/4 tbsp nutmeg
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla extract
10-12 slices day old bread (I used the bread I made yesterday after slicing it thick and letting it sit out overnight uncovered)

Whisk all ingredients except bread in a bowl until combined. Heat electric griddle, skillet, or stove top; coated with cooking spray, butter, or evoo; to very hot. Soak each piece of bread for about 15 seconds. Allowing the liquid to drip off the bread slices as you remove them from the liquid. Fry the bread for about 3 minutes before turning. Cook and turn again, until golden brown. Keep warm in low heated oven until ready to serve. Dust with confectioners sugar, cinnamon sugar, or wheat germ. Serve with fresh maple syrup.
